"Still waters run deep"
"A series of ceramic vases in which I explore the theme of internal passions and sensuality in each story and individual character. The pink tones give a feeling of femininity and sweetness, but the plots are frankly daring. Inspired by a series of vases from ancient Greece.
"Barcelona Design Week began yesterday with the presentation of the 13th FAD Art Awards, organized by the FAD Association of Artists and Craftsmen. 33 finalists were chosen from more than 200 works, with a strong presence of craft techniques and materials applied to art, such as textiles and ceramics.
"Still waters run deep" , by Nina Murashkina, was the winner. The jury valued the ceramic vases of the Ukrainian artist based in Barcelona “the formal force of the whole, the clarity of the discourse, the gaze and the narrative on desire and the fusion of traditional techniques with a contemporary resolution”. Murashkina bases the work on a sensual and metaphorical world built on her life experiences. The vases inspired by ancient Greece create a feeling of femininity and sweetness, but a detailed reading is a punch that urges the viewer to reflect."
