PROJECTS Pasiones Internas 26.03 - 30.04. 2026

Nina Murashkina’s solo exhibition, ‘Inner Passions’, focuses on the inner forces that inhabit the human being: secret desires, love, fear, loneliness, despair, and moments of extreme emotional intensity. Murashkina conceives of the human being as a vessel, an external form that may appear stable while containing a complex and contradictory inner life. In this series, ceramic vessels function as bodily metaphors, simultaneously concealing and revealing their inner worlds, while painting allows for a broader narrative and psychological development of each character.

Each work is built around an imaginary figure. During the creative process, Murashkina develops a detailed psychological profile and internal narrative for each character, translating these states into form, color, and symbolic imagery. References to Greek mythology — Medusa, Narcissus, Zeus, and other archetypal figures — intertwine with the artist’s personal experiences and observations, expressed through a distinctly surrealist and emotionally charged visual language.

A central aspect of Murashkina’s practice is what she defines as ‘Magical Feminism’: a worldview in which reality is reinterpreted through a mythical prism. Her divine-looking heroines embody the duality of femininity: lustful and innocent, provocative and tender, brutally honest and mysteriously dark. These powerful female figures appear as triumphant deities, capable of riding animals, sages, or even the world itself, amplifying feminine strength through myth and imagination.

‘Inner Passions’ proposes an intimate and mythological journey into the subconscious, where emotional intensity, fantasy, and ancestral symbols converge to create deeply personal portraits of inner life.
